Mal schauen was draus wird.

ZitatAccording to Ralph Strangis on ESPN 103.3 Dallas, Brett Hull suffered a serious calf injury during warm-ups for a Mike Modano charity event. The event is a baseball game for many notables here in the DFW area which raises money for the Mike Modano Foundation. Brett was to be one of the notable stars of the event. According to Strangis, Brett suffered the injury during the warm-up prior to the game. He said, the extent of the injury is not known but it looked very serious and could threaten his hockey career. Nothing has been written to my knowledge on this injury but it is worth noting. If nothing else, the teams interested in Brett may want to wait to see if the injury heals before a contract is signed. Ralph is the play by play announcer for the Stars radio/TV broadcast
das nennt man wohl scheiße gelaufen.... :disappointed:

ZitatCovington gives everything he has on every shift, and for that, he earned the Calgary Hitmen coach's award. It all starts with top-end speed and work ethic for the undersized winger, but his puck skills and finishing ability don't yield much in the form of offensive results. A pesky, tenacious forechecker who can kill penalties, Covington could develop into a role player if his offensive game comes along. He is also the cousin of top selection Andrew Ladd.

6. Runde:

192 DET  ANTON AXELSSON  1/16/1986  Ytterby, Sweden  SE  6' 0"  183  SJL  FROLUNDA JR.  LW  L

ZitatBeing the younger brother of Boston’s Per-Johan Axelsson hockey has always been a natural part of Anton Axelsson’s life. He has been considered a very good prospect for several years and performed well on every level he has played. This season was somewhat disturbed due to injuries, but Axelsson had a strong finish which almost took him all the way to the U18 World Junior Championships.

Axelsson plays in many ways very similar to his older brother. He is a very good skater, hardworking, excellent defensively and very loyal to his team. A team player that can contribute offensively as well. He has a nose for the net and can set-up his team mates with nice plays. The competition for a regular spot in the SEL is very tough in Frölunda. It is not very likely that Axelsson’s will get plenty of shifts at the highest level next season. He will however be a key-player for Frölunda’s junior team, both defensively and offensively.

ZitatThe brother of Boston Bruins winger P-J Axelsson, Anton is quite similar in many respects. A hard-working, defensive-minded winger, who is capable offensively and kills penalties well. He lit up Sweden's under-18 league, but struggled somewhat at the under-20 level. Axelsson doesn't have much offensive upside, nor does he have the wheels of his brother. But he could develop into a similar player if he can pick up his scoring

5. Runde:

151 DET  SIARHEI KOLASAU  5/22/1986  Novopolotsk, Belarus  BY  6' 4"  187  BEL  MINSK  D  L

ZitatKolasau represented Belarus at the world under-18 championship, piling up 24 penalty minutes in six games. But don't expect offense from the 6-foot-4, 187-pound bruiser. He likes to hammer people with his size and strength, and plays a rough-and-tumble physical game. His mobility and puck skills need plenty of work, but Kolasau does offer a heavy shot. The polar opposite of Johan Franzen -- an unpolished, raw, long-term project, who is years of development away.

5. Runde:

162 DET  TYLER HASKINS  5/26/1986  Cleveland, Ohio  US  6' 1"  177  OHL  TOR. ST. MICHAEL'S  C  R

ZitatTyler Haskins, a second year center playing with the OHL's Toronto St. Michael’s Majors, is eligible for the 2004 Entry Draft.

He was drafted by the Guelph Storm in the fifth round of the 2002 OHL draft and played for the Storm last season. He started the year playing for Guelph but was traded to the Majors early in the season. Haskins was the key to the deal for the Majors in the trade that saw OHL veteran defenseman Kevin Klein head to Guelph. Ever since then, the Madison, Ohio native has been a very key contributor to the Majors.

The 17-year-old Haskins plays a solid game at both ends of the ice and can do just about anything asked of him. He is strong on face-offs, penalty kill and is also capable of bringing offense to the team, although he excels particularly on defense.

Haskins has had a good year offensively. He is currently fifth on the team in points with 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points and a team-high plus-17. He recently played in the 2004 CHL Top Prospects Game. Hockey’s Future spoke with the 6’0" 185-pound Haskins early this week.

2003-04 Toronto St. Michael's Majors OHL 54 17 24 41 30 18 5 4 9 10

ZitatA chippy, prototypical shut-down centre who spent the OHL playoffs suffocating players such as Kamil Kreps and Wojtek Wolski. A foot-soldier who is committed at both ends of the rink, Haskins also has the tools to chip in occasionally on the offense. The problem, however, is strength, but that will come with time. Add Haskins to the list of potential next generation role players.

4. Runde:

128 DET  EVAN MCGRATH  1/14/1986  Oakville, Ont.  CA  5' 11"  181  OHL  KITCHENER  C  L

ZitatHistory

Scored six playoff goals in 21 contests to help the Rangers win the OHL title and picked up two goals in the Memorial Cup Championship game to help Kitchener win that title.

Talent Analysis

McGrath has all the tools to be a center on the top two lines in the NHL. He is an excellent passer and puck handler and has a very good wrist shot. Was used in a number of roles by the Rangers in his rookie season, including some time as a left winger on the first line. Played very well with the extra ice time that was available when veterans were away at pro camps or at the World Junior tournament. Play has been inconsistent at times, some nights he looks like the best player on the ice, others he appears just average.

Future

Is a very probable first round pick, probably somewhere in the top 20.

03-04 Kitchener Rangers  68 15 36 51 28
02-03 Kitchener Rangers (Playoffs)  21 6 2 8 6
02-03 Kitchener Rangers  64 16 31 47 40
01-02 Oakville Blades Jr. A  49 43 44 87 24

ZitatI think the Sabres should pick Evan McGrath oft the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL. McGrath shows both, offensive and defensive ability. Evan's a goal scorer and is not scared to rough it up to get the puck. McGrath was named the Kitchener Rangers' Rookie oft the Year for the 2002-2003 season. He also was a member of Canadas 2003 under 17-Team.

Evan McGrtah scored 43 goals and 87 points in 49 games with the Oakville Blades JR-A during the 2001-2002 season, finishing 3rd in OHA in scoring during the 2001-02 season. In his rookie year with Kitchener, Evan postet 16 goals and 47 points in 64 games and help Kitchener win the Memorial Cup chamionship with team mate Derek Roy.

Evan McGrath scored two goals in the championship game so he can handle pressure in big games"

ZitatMcGrath was considered a sure-fire first-rounder at this time last summer, but didn't have the kind of season he needed. He is a point-producer who just didn't put up the points this year. Still, he has a Memorial Cup under his belt and represented Canada at the under-18 championship. He's a terrific skater with the ability to bring fans out of their seats, and he has top-end hockey sense and the tools to be a deadly playmaker. The sum of the parts hasn't equaled the whole package so far.

Hier noch einige Infos über ihn.

ZitatMcKeen's Hockey Prospects Staff

Karl Fabricius
Watch out for Johan Franzen who might be one of the first European overagers to be taken in this year’s draft. The talented center appears to be the only true overage standout from Sweden, although there are a couple of other names to consider. We provide the scouting reports on Franzen, Karl Fabricius (pictured) and Per Hallberg

ZitatScouting: Broke through with an excellent season (12 goals, 30 points) after only showing flashes of talent previously, establishing himself as one of the frontrunners for overagers to be drafted .. relies on magnificent stickhandling abilities and good speed .. moves with fluid, quick strides and accelerates effortlessly .. was unable to use speed to his advantage in the past, but learned to use it as a weapon due to added strength and better offensive sense .. shortcomings include playmaking and vision, which still limit him .. has a quick, accurate wrister .. works hard in his own end, although positional game and anticipation skills are pretty raw .. a rangy guy with size â€" he’s worth a mid-round pickup

Franzen im Vergleich zu Zetterberg in Schweden :D:

Von eliteprospects.com:

ZitatFranzén has become a star player this season. From being a talented hardworking player he is now playing with the Swedish national team and putting up good numbers in the SEL.
Franzén has great size and is very strong. He is quite all-round as a player and can put the puck in the net although he is a better passer. Further on he is a good skater and has good technical skills as well.
