In der 1.Runde ziehen die Ducks den tschechen Ladislav Smid.Also wieder ein neuder defender.Smid bestritt 45 Spiele in der tschechischen Liga und kam dabei auf einen Treffer und eine Vorlage.Laut turco sollen Ottawa und Vancouver Interesse an ihm haben.Smid war überigens Nummer 4 im europäischen ranking.

Zumindest bekommt man mit ihm einen Offensivverteidiger,also passenden Ersatz für Niclas.

kann ich auch nicht ganz nachvollziehen,sicherlich hatte Niclas eine bescheidene Saison,aber ob Fortser ein gleichwertiger Ersatz ist?Zumindest einen Pick hätte man noch rausschlagen können.
Dieser trade bedeut zumindest,dass man wohl Salei und Vishnevski behalten wird,denn nun spart man doch viel geld ein.
Wenn Salei und Vishnevski verlängern,dann hat man 5klasse defender und um den letzten Platz werden wohl Popovic sowie die beiden Neuen Malec und Forster kämpfen.

The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim have traded defenceman Niclas Havelid to the Atlanta Thrashers for defenceman Kurtis Foster, TSN has learned.

na ich weiß nit.....Havelid hatte sicherlich nicht seine beste season, aber wenn da keine picks mit im spiel sind, setz ich mir persönlich doch ein großes fragezeichen hinter den sinn dieses trades

Aaron Rome recently agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Rome, 20 years old, finished the 2003-2004 regular season ranked third among defensemen in the Western Hockey League with 52 points. He also ranked second overall and first among defensemen with a +36 rating.

“Aaron is a guy that our scouts have liked for a long time,” said David McNab, Assistant General Manager of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. “We liked him when he was originally drafted.”

Rome, a 6-1, 215-pound defensemen was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round (104th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

“He’s a big guy who can sort of play both ways,” added McNab. “He has good offensive skills and he is physical. He’s a good defenseman. He is a guy we think has a chance to be a good all-around defenseman who can play in a lot of different situations.”

Rome played with two teams in 2003-2004, earning 7-26=33 points in 41 games with Swift Current and closing out the season with 3-16=19 points in 28 games with Moose Jaw.

“The Western Hockey League is the type of league where you travel quite a bit,” said McNab. “It’s a tough place to play. He played in some small towns. Swift Current and Moose Jaw aren’t big well known areas. I think a guy learns to appreciate a lot of things.”

Young defensemen who can do more than one thing like Rome would seem to be in demand by a lot of teams in the NHL.

“I think so, especially when you talk about a young defenseman,” added McNab. “You’ve got to have versatility as far as what you are capable of doing. There are so few guys that can step into the NHL and be an offensive guy or just be a defensive guy. You like a guy that can do a little bit of both. And they have to able to skate, which this guy can.”

Rome was a free agent, so the Ducks get a pretty good player without having to give up a draft choice.

Rome is expected to attend the Ducks training camp in September.

Keine schlechte Entscheidung Keith zu behalten,auch wenn er ein schlechtes Jahr hatte.Allerdings habe ich auch gelesen,dass man die Gehaltsliste entlastet,dass heißt allerdings,dass man entweder Salei oder Vishnevski wahrscheinlich nicht signen wird.Wenn,dann sollte bitte Salei gehen,da Vishnevski ein klasse jahr hatte.

da hab ich gestern nämlich auch einen beitrag drüber gelesen, ob, sie die option ziehen oder nicht.....und heute steht das da:

It was reported on Saturday that the Anaheim Mighty Ducks would have to consider picking up the two-year option on Keith Carney's contract. Carney's option was in fact picked up by the Ducks on May 12.

naja, füpr O'Neill hätte man aber deutlich mehr auf den tisch legen müssen, als einen gerber

Es war ja klar,dass Martin geht,und bei den Canes hat er ja auch gute Chancen Nummer 1 zu werden.Bryzgalov wird seinen Job sicher gut machen.Allerdings weiß ich nicht,was ich von diesem trade halten soll,Malec hat sich noch nicht in der NHL durchgesetzt und der 3 Rounder ist auch nicht spektakulär,mir wäre O'Neill lieber gewesen.

Obviously this has all happened very quickly. I found out on Saturday morning when Bryan called me with the news. Let me just say that, I really respect Bryan’s decision to do something that clearly, from the time I have been around him - not just this past year, but over a number of years - he has been chasing a dream, and that dream lies on the coaching side of things. He was a terrific manager here, and deserves a great deal of credit for coming in here two or three years ago and taking not just a team, but an organization that was experiencing some difficulty, and giving it some credibility and starting to put the building blocks in place that will allow this team and the organization to move forward.

We wish him well and thank him for his contribution. I think we are sitting here in excellent shape, which we can thank to Bryan. I’ve been here about 13 months now and I had a keen interest in watching the development of Giguere, who was my player in Calgary and consequently watched both the business and the team side of the organization.

There are a lot of really good building blocks here. I think we as a staff and an organization are in very good shape. I’m fortunate to have good people here in numerous roles, principally on the hockey side of things - with Chuck Fletcher and David McNab. Our entire scouting staff as well as our coaching staff is already in place. A lot of the work that you would have to do as a new general manager going into a new place, has been done.

I am one to have my fingers in everything - sales, marketing, finance, corporate relations, community relations and hockey. I’m a great believer in having the best people and letting people do their jobs. That is what I did in my side of the operation. I think Bryan operated the same way, so we are sitting here today staffed with quality people that will ensure that we do not go down a notch, but rather we go forward.

As much as I was surprised on Saturday, I guess I am not shocked, as I watched him again this morning (at the Ottawa press conference). The excitement is written all over his face and in his voice. He is excited to be returning behind the bench. Good for Bryan and we wish him the best of luck

Erstmal bin ich wirklich überrascht,dass Murray die Ducks verlassen hat,aber er wollte nochmal eine Aufgabe haben.Allerdings stellt sich jetzt die Frage,wer seinen Job übernehmen soll,aktuell übernimmt es mal Al Coates.Murray hat klasse Arbeit geleistet,dafür Danke und viel Glück bei den Sens.Allerdings ist der Zeitpunkt ungünstig,befindet man sich doch in der Offseason und einige Leistungsträger müssen gehalten werden.

Dome ist ein guter Mann,war drittbester Scorer unter den Verteidigern in der WHL,wird aber estmal in der AHL zum Zuge kommen.

außerdem hat man prospect Aaron Dome verpflichtet, den die Kings haben ziehen lassen ( ) man bescheinigt ihm mal ein top4 defender zu werden, vom spielertyp ähnlich wie Aaron Miller
