The Colorado Avalanche has acquired forward Darby Hendrickson and an eighth round choice in the 2004 Entry Draft from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Colorado’s fourth round selection in the 2005 Entry Draft.

Brauchte man ihn wirklich, wollte man da etwa nur auf einen Pick in der 5 Runde verzichten um in der 8 runden zuschlagen zu dürfen???

hier ein ganzer bericht zu bondras wechsel:

Capitals trade Bondra, all-time leading scorer, to Senators

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Capitals resumed their roster purge by trading all-time leading scorer Peter Bondra to Ottawa on Wednesday, giving the Senators another potent offensive threat in their drive toward the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Capitals received prospect center Brooks Laich and a 2005 second-round pick for Bondra, who had spent his entire 14-year career with the Capitals.
Bondra wanted to stay in Washington, and he said he was disappointed when he got the news from general manager George McPhee before practice Wednesday morning.
"When George told me, I was so shocked and, like, my stomach had butterflies," Bondra said. "It was almost emotionally a breakdown. It was tough. ... I was here for 14 years, and all of sudden it's gone."
Bondra becomes the latest victim in the last-place franchise's attempt to rebuild and trim payroll, following the departures of Jaromir Jagr and captain Steve Konowalchuk in midseason trades.
"Peter Bondra deserves a chance to compete for a Stanley Cup," Capitals owner Ted Leonsis said. "I know what he means to our fan base, but allowing him the opportunity to win a Cup is important. This was a difficult trade."
Ottawa moved into a first-place tie with Toronto in the Northeast Division with a 1-1 tie last night at Washington. Already the NHL's top-scoring team with 196 goals, the Senators now have added the player who trails only Brett Hull, Jagr and Brendan Shanahan in goals scored among active players since 1990.
Bondra, a five-time NHL All-Star, has 21 goals and 14 assists in 54 games this season, including four game-winning goals. The Senators are now the only team in the NHL with 10 players who have scored 10 or more goals this season.
Bondra, who turned 36 this month, leaves the Capitals as the franchise's all-time leader in goals (472), points (825), power-play goals (137), game-winning goals (73), short-handed goals (32) and hat tricks (19). Had he finished the season with the Caps, he would have become the team's all-time leader in games played, passing Calle Johansson.
Bondra, who will join the Senators for Thursday's home game, said it will take him a couple of days to get over being traded and that his family will stay in the Washington area.
He said all the right things about Ottawa, including that he was looking forward to meeting new teammates and having a chance to win a Stanley Cup for the first time, but it is clear his heart had not yet accepted the trade.
"I still don't believe it," Bondra said.
Bondra is in the third year of a four-year $18 million contract, and the final year is an option year. He will become a free agent this summer and could be re-signed by the Capitals if the Senators decide not to keep him, but Ottawa general manager John Muckler said he intends to exercise the option.
"He is not a rental," Muckler said.
Laich was a sixth-round pick in the 2001 draft. He has played this season with the AHL's Binghampton Senators, scoring 15 goals with 18 assists in 44 games. He made his NHL debut this season when he was called up for one game with Ottawa.
The Capitals might not be done. Goaltender Olaf Kolzig, defenseman Sergei Gonchar and center Robert Lang all have been consistent targets of trade rumors.

After weeks of speculation, it finally happened. Peter Bondra is now an Ottawa Senator.
The Washington Capitals traded the right-winger to the Senators in exchange for center Brooks Laich and a second-round selection in the 2005 Entry Draft

Predators sign forward Walker to contract extension

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators have signed forward Scott Walker to a contract extension.

Terms of the extension were not disclosed.

Walker leads the Predators this season in goals (17), points (38) and short-handed goals (3). He is Nashville's all-time leading scorer with 83 goals, and ranks among the franchise leaders in games played, assists and points.

Walker, 30, was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1.

"Scott Walker is the prototype Nashville Predator, and we are pleased to announce that we have signed him to a long-term deal," general manager David Poile said. "He is a feisty, hard-working emotional leader who basically developed from a role player into a top-line contributor with Nashville over the past six seasons."

Corson, 37, retired from the Toronto Maple Leafs last season.

In 17 NHL seasons, the forward has 683 points (268 goals and 415 assists) in 1,139 regular season games. He has 86 points (38 goals, 48 assists) in 135 career playoff games.

$!$!$! schade eigentlich...
