Kevin lässt sich mal wieder aus! Thema heute: Die Abwehr in genauerer Betrachtung und Vanek und Lalime in genauerer Betrachtung!

2 Auszüge:

ZitatGreat to see Thomas Vanek and Derek Roy dominate a game.  Both were due to "break out" and control a game and they each did that against the Islanders.
Vanek was the offensive force he was last season before suffering the broken jaw.  Roy got his first goal of the season, but also went 14-0 on face offs.  That is a remarkable number.

ZitatLindy is not afraid to play Lalime.  He and any coach will play Ryan Miller as much as he can without burning him out.

Why wouldn't he?

Last week was the right time to play Miller in all three games in four nights.  The team was on a roll and there was three days until the next contest.  That's actually the case until the last week of November when the schedule really condenses.  Lalime will be needed then.

Tja, was soll man dazu noch sagen ...

Genau - Tyler Myers!

Auszug:
ZitatThe question you have to ask and project is this, "would you rather have Tyler Myers at age 19 or age 26?"  The simple answer is at age 26 because he projects to be a much better hockey player then and if his contract term doesn't start this year, a much cheaper one than the free agent version.  On the flip side of that is this: he projects to be better then, because he's already good now.  By keeping him, the Sabres are gaining this year of play ahead of schedule.

Here comes the opinion part:  there is no chance he gets sent back to Kelowna and doesn't stay on the roster.  The Sabres could keep him here to practice, pay him and not play him to keep three years remaining on the contract.  However, you could argue that he has been the Sabres best defenseman (Craig Rivet even said it on Monday), so that doesn't make any sense.  The team is winning, the kid is good, and I wouldn't mess with it.  The big thing is not to overwhelm him now with the weight of winning, the city, and overzealous expectations thanks to the 6-1-1 start.

Auszug:
ZitatIt's good to see Thomas Vanek back at practice on the line with Derek Roy and Drew Stafford.  My guess is that he would have played last weekend if it were March or the playoffs, but it made sense to hold him out this early in the season.  Let's hope his upper body injury is able to withstand the pounding in front of the net on the power play, because he is needed on that top unit.

:zwinker:

Kevin's Rückblick auf die ersten 4 Spiele!

Schönster Auszug:

ZitatRyan Miller is loving that to the tune of a GAA of 1.23 and save percentage of .945.  The only player ahead of him that has played at least four games is Phoenix's Ilya Bryzgalov with a staggering GAA of .0.98 and Save percentage of .960.

Bemerkenswert:

ZitatIt's just one game, but I think Tyler Myers can unpack his suitcase.

 :headb:
