Das krasseste Foul der letzten Jahre! :motz:  :pillepalle:

Stafford - 6 Spiele Sperre / Perezhogin - 1 Jahr Sperre!

falls jemand das foul sehen will...

Hier die Original-Meldung:

AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Hamilton Bulldogs forward Alexander Perezhogin has been suspended for the remainder of the Calder Cup 2004 Playoffs and the entire 2004-05 American Hockey League season as a result of his actions in an April 30, 2004, game against the Cleveland Barons.

Additionally, Cleveland defenseman has been suspended for six (6) games for his actions in the same game. Because the Barons have been eliminated from the Calder Cup 2004 Playoffs, Stafford will serve his suspension at the start of the 2004-05 regular season.

The suspensions are the result of a thorough and comprehensive review of AHL Game #E-5, the fifth game of the North Division semifinal playoff series between Hamilton and Cleveland at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ont.

During play in front of the Cleveland net at 18:38 of the first period, Stafford swung his stick in a dangerous manner, striking a glancing blow on the back of Perezhogin’s helmet. Perezhogin responded with a forceful, two-handed baseball-like swing to Stafford’s face, leaving the Barons player unconscious and suffering convulsions on the ice. Perezhogin was assessed a match penalty on the play and was immediately suspended indefinitely pending league review.

A statement from league President and CEO David Andrews follows this release.

Perezhogin, 20, and Stafford, 24, were among a talented group of first-year players throughout the AHL during the 2003-04 season. Perezhogin, a 2001 first-round draft pick by Montreal, finished fourth among league rookies with 50 points in 77 games for the Bulldogs, while Stafford was named to the AHL’s All-Rookie Team after leading all first-year defensemen in scoring with 46 points.
